My sister stumbled…and I think quite literally…upon an awesome Brandy Slush recipe many moons ago that’s so good, I collect gallon-sized ice cream pails to make it for summer. Really, it’s delicious anytime, but there’s nothing better than an ice-cold, slushy drink on a hot summer day.
I remember the first time she made a batch, and brought it to a family cookout. She showed up carrying an ice cream pail and an ice cream scoop. I’m quite sure one of us snarky food snobs said, “How creative for the potluck…ice cream.” To our surprise, it wasn’t ice cream at all, and we were about to be her test dummies for this new “adult beverage.” Two scoops into the plastic cup, and a splash of lemon-lime soda and we were good to go. We all raved at how delicious it was, eagerly quenching our parched, summer sun throats….and that’s when the fun started.
I must warn you…this stuff knocks a punch! But, I think you’re going to love it’s refreshing flavor. I love lemon-lime soda as the topper, but ginger ale is terrific too. You CAN make it without any liquor, and it’s still delicious. Salute’!
